Homeowners Need To Know What To Expect
At USA Roofing, we want all of our customers to be prepared for the renovation of their roof before we start working so they do not have to deal with the unexpected.
- Make all checks and money orders to USA Roofing; NEVER make a check payable to a sales representative.
- After shingles are delivered to your home, please check the color. Notify Andrews Roofing immediately if the color is not what you ordered.
- Notify your mortgage and insurance company the day your roof begins. This will expedite the inspection and payment process.
- Be prepared for the noise! There will be constant hammering for two or more days, depending on the size of your roof.
- Keep small children and pets away from the work area.
- Remove all loose items from walls, shelves, pictures, and figurines. Hammering may create vibrations that may cause the items to fall.
- Remove all items from around the house where roofing debris may fall or bundles of shingles might fall on the patio and pool, furniture, potted plants, and gardening equipment. Leaves or blooms may be knocked off the plants near your home during the job. We try to protect the plants, but many times the layout of the landscape prevents us from doing so.
- During the project dust may fall from rafters and the undersides of the decking. Any clothing or items this may damage should be protected.
- We will need access to your driveway to load shingles and clean up. Please park your cars, motorcycles, bicycles, boats, etc. Away from the driveway until the job is completely done.
- Occasionally, we use power tools to cut decking or shingles. When we do, please check your circuit breakers to make sure they are operating correctly and have not been tripped.
- Precautions are taken to prevent gutter damage. However, there are instances when damage to your gutters are unavoidable, especially on the very steep roofs or ones that are completely surrounded by gutters. Your homeowner’s insurance should cover any damages.
- For each day it rains, work on your roof will be delayed. USA Roofing, and Roofers are instructed not to tear off more shingles than they can replace in one day so that your roof is not exposed to inclement weather.

- Occasionally shingles have to be sealed to the sidewalls. Age along with moisture saturation can rot out the wood. During the removal of shingles along the walls, paint removals and chipping of the wood may occur. USA Roofing is not responsible for this unavoidable occurrence.
- Nails that fall from the roof during the job will be picked up with a magnetic roller. We will make every effort to pick up all the nails. Please be advised, however, that a few nails will remain, hidden in the grass or shrubbery- may remain. If you as a homeowner please when you sign our contract make sure, your grass is mowed as short as possible so that we can get up as many nails as possible.
- When the old roof is removed tremendous amount of weight is taken off the frame of your home. This can cause slight movements of your rafters and beams. This shifting may cause small stress cracks in your ceiling along with paint popping off the nails. USA Roofing is not responsible for this unavoidable occurrence.
- When we remove two (2) or more layers from your roof, your roofline will drop. This will be evident along any wall. This cannot be avoidable and will change the appearance of the roof. However, it will be minimal and will not affect the integrity and utility of the roof and flashing.
- Sagging or bubbling in the decking will not be corrected with standard re-roofing. A Second layer tear off will magnify these imperfections.
- On wood shingle, roofs there will be certain amount of dust and splinters of wood in the attic spaces due to not having decking under it.
